Update:
Central: rough night (1-4) takes them to 4-6 North: opposite of last week (2-4) takes them to 6-6 South: bounce back (4-2) takes them to 6-6 West: good night (4-1) takes them to 7-3 So, is the West the best this year? Milford appears to be back, so does Howell, and Hartland is much improved. Brighton is probably 4th best, and they're above average. Even the normally lowly Pinckney Pirates got a win over Glenn. (Doesn't it seem like way longer than only 5 years ago that Glenn was a perennial powerhouse?) ![]() |

Hey colonel, any thoughts on Howell vs. Milford this year? I have seen Howell and I am looking forward to this one. From the scores it sure looks like
Milford is the team to beat in the KLAA.

How do all those Aaron Metz haters feel now? Howell vs. Milford is one of the bigger games in the state next Friday. It should be a barn-burner. Both teams are
physical and have a lot of weapons without having any superstars along the likes of Austin White. And don't get too wrapped up in scores; I think South
Lyon was a little overrated due to name recognition and a stud transfer.
Lakeland being slightly overrated (and just slightly because let's not forget this is still Canton and the game was tied in the 4th quarter) is a classic example of people looking at skill kids coming back but forgetting about linemen. Lakeland is still the team to beat in the North, however, and they're still in position to make some noise. Two of the three Walled Lake schools are bad, and the third one (Western) is definitely beatable. Plus, the Waterford schools are still sub-par. I see Lakeland having one tough game against Walled Lake Western until they get to their crossover. By that point they should be 6-1 or 5-2, and I'm thinking 6-1. That could be unfortunate in this respect: Lakeland's week 9 opponent is Milford, and if Milford wins the West, Milford-Lakeland could also play in week 8, making it a home-and-home series. That's no good for anyone. Hartland is the real deal this year. That makes three quality teams in the West division capable of making a run in Division 1. The team I'm still trying to figure out is Brighton. I think they're solid, but I don't know how much so. I'm going to have to go check them out. And, yes, it's great to see the Pirates get one. Unfortunately, I don't think Glenn is very good. Still...GAR! ![]() |

Hartland vs. SL East | #5 | ||

Hartland does have decent skill players this year. But they haven't played a good team yet, so I wouldn't say they have 'arrived'. The second
half was Hartlands second offense/defence against SLE which the team consists of 3/4 sophmores and a freshman. SLE scored twice and Hartland second team
scored once in the second half, making the final 50-14.
